Gates Wants To Do It Better Than The Wii
Just subscribed to digg. Found this news, and wanted to try to post it directly on my own blog. I looks like it's working.
During a recent interview by AllThingsDigital, Bill Gates hints at his hopes of a near-future “natural input” control scheme for gaming. He stated that it will be better than the Wii’s technology, because Gates’ contraption would revolve around an “all seeing eye,” a camera, which would know what was going on...
I agree with the poster. Also, I believe that swinging a racket or a baseball bat is going to hurt people around you more than the Wii Controller.
Does he wants us to play SSX on a balanced Snowboard too?

Spiderman 3 Sucks.
Spiderman 3 Sucks. I am not the only one who thinks so.
here's the reasons why:
Peter & Mary spent time in the park.
Meteor w/ the black symbiote crashes nearby.
Harry prepares to be "New Goblin".
Flint escapes jail, becomes Sandman.
Peter finds out Flint killed Ben.
Symbiote attaches to Spider-Man.
Spider-Man almost kills Sandman.
Peter becomes emo.
Eddie hates Peter and Spider-Man.
Peter starts up with Gwen.
Harry tries to trap Peter.
Peter burns Harry (who had amnesia).
After Mary incident, Peter plans to get rid of symbiote.
Eddie becomes Venom.
Venom sort of looks like Carnage and Spider-Man
Venom teams with the NOT-dead Sandman.
They kidnap Mary.
Spider-Man & "New Goblin" team up.
Venom kills Harry.
Spider-Man throws a pumpkin bomb.
Venom dies.
Sandman blows away (maybe dead, maybe not).
Peter and Mary go to Harry's funeral.
They re-establish their relationship.
The movie ends.
People go home and punch things in frustration.
yes I am a counter whore... just posting about spiderman 'cause makes the counter tick...
more meaningful posts later on, now I've got to rush to my second dutch lesson. (plin!)

A Masterpiece of Asian Advertisement
If it weren't for the subtitles I wouldn't understand a jota, and even like this I don't know where they are from - Somewhere between India and Armenia, I'd say.
But Oh they're funny!!!

wrong wrong wrong...
the NY Times stick his foot in it...
"Pro Evolution Soccer, a popular soccer game produced by Electronic Arts." wrong wrong wrong, PES is made by Konami. I just had to say it to someone :-) I know you don't care... :-|

Zelda, and The Ship.
Here's two games I'd like to try out.
The Ship, which reminds me of "The Hunt" by (Damn I don't remember): you're on board opf a ship, where every person has to kill another one... so you're hunter and prey at the same time.
This one, instead, doesn't need introductions: the latest instalment of the best videogame franchise ever, this time link has to travel between his own realm and the darkness realm, where he has to solve the (un)usual puzzles in wolf shape... Zelda and Lycanthropes. what more can you ask for?

Bashing the PS3
The NY Times jumps on the PS3-bashing bandwagon, suggesting instead to go for the X360 or the Wii...
the pice goes on comparing things like games selection at the moment, online services, ability to play DVDs, and so on...
in fact after reading it, i don't see many reasons for either buying the 360 or the PS3. I think I'll stick with my proposition of getting myself a Wii once the PhD is done. it'll look gorgeous on my soon-to-come 3X" LCD TV... ;-)

The Wii gets good press
the NYTimes, no less, praise Nintendo for its innovative moves, at the same time that it squashes Sony for ditching the vibration from its controllers to make space for motion-sensitivity, a late-added feature almost not used by the unimaginative ps3 games...
GO!, Wiii!!!

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii...
Apparently, the new Wii is as good as I was hoping. The new Zelda too.
but mind you, potato couches may need to exercise more, before tackling on the new control system, since it makes you move so much that you can suffer muscle injuries...

How to waste our time...
Ah ah, I can't believe the frustrated guy(s) waiting the whole night for amazon to put up the Nintendo Wii for sale... and most of them didn't even catch one.
they thought they'd be smarter, and warmer than their geek-friends waiting in queues in front of 'real' stores... only they did have no idea on how long the virtual queue was. nor whether they were at the front of it, or at the back end...
For me, I'll wait for the Wii to come down in price after six months or more... I love Nintendo's games, but it's not as if I have plenty of time to play with them right now, do I?
and hey, does it play dvd/xvid/divx? anybody knows?

Again on Virtual Spaces...
Becoming less and less Virtual... Sony, Sun and opther big corporate follow the example of reuters and set up shop in Second Life... I don't know how this may affect the mood of people there... what kind of escapist fantasy is supposed to be, when contaminated by all aspects of the real world? and what about competition? would Sun win over a virtual-based corporate founded by what is in the real world a housewife?
Nissan has taken a creative approach to this: Beginning a promotional venture in a virtual world is still a relatively inexpensive proposition compared with the millions spent on other media. In Second Life, a company like Nissan or its advertising agency could buy an “island” for a one-time fee of $1,250 and a monthly rate of $195 a month. For its new campaign built around its Sentra car, the company then needed to hire some computer programmers to create a gigantic driving course and design digital cars that people “in world” could actually drive, as well as some billboards and other promotional spots throughout the virtual world that would encourage people to visit Nissan Island.
I guess the other will do similar things...
and where there's money, here comes the vultures... On Tuesday, a Congressional committee said it was investigating whether virtual assets and incomes should be taxed.

Wii is wiith us...
No pesky PS3, thanks, I have been a Nintendo fans since I saw Pikmin on the gamecube... I love challenging, yet cute-looking videogames, and there's nothing like nintendo for them...
And Gamecube successor, the Wii, is coming out soon... featuring a new two-pieces, motion-sensitive, free-hand controller which I really believe is going to make games more fun... think about playing soulcalibur by really punching your opponents sitting in the sofa close to you... or most likely standing in front of the TV...
I can't wait to play next gen's Zelda: Twilight Princess
and Wii Sports:
and what else? well, I don't care. I play very rarely (not at all in the last nine months or so), so even very few (possibly PARTY/multiplayer) games will do for me.
But I hope they keep up a decent pipeline so that the user base will not switch over to the more muscular PS3 and X360... XP
Personally, I think M$ is going to loose anyway. Nintendo has shown with the DS that it can keep up and beat the crap out of Sony, let's hope tey keep up with the good job...
